Short answer

Usually the implant post, the consultation and a panoramic X-ray — and often not the abutment or the crown, which together roughly double the figure. A £550 package can finish at around £930 once the tooth on top is included.

The full cost, line by line

Typical 2026 prices in GBP. Every part of the bill, not just the advertised one.

What you pay forHungaryTurkeyUK
Implant postNearly always the headline number in a package price.£550£400£2,950
AbutmentFrequently excluded. Ask explicitly — it is the most commonly omitted line.£150£80£275
CrownThe visible tooth, fitted on the second visit. Excluded from most package prices.£230£160£850
Bone graft, if neededNever included in a package, because nobody knows whether you need one until the CT scan.£300£200£800
Post, abutment and crown£930£640£4,075

Typical mid-range figures, not quotes. Individual clinics price differently and a CT scan can change what a case needs. Last reviewed 2026-08-16.

Why packages read cheaper than they finish

A dental implant is three components fitted across two visits, and the word "package" almost always refers to the first of them. That is not necessarily dishonest — the crown genuinely is a later decision, and its material and shade are chosen after healing — but it does mean package prices from different clinics are rarely comparable as published.

The reliable test is to ask for the price of a finished tooth: post, abutment and crown, fitted. Any clinic that treats you seriously will give you that figure, and the ones that will not have told you something useful.

Budapest against Istanbul

Hungary sits consistently above Turkey on implant components — a finished single tooth is roughly £930 in Budapest against about £640 in Istanbul, so around 45% more. Both are far below the UK figure, where the same finished tooth is roughly £4,075.

Hungary's counterweight is proximity and regulation: it is an EU member state, flights are short and frequent from most UK cities, and follow-up is easier to arrange. For a single tooth that convenience is often worth the difference; across six or eight, it usually is not.

Worth knowing before you compare any quotes: the number of implants you need isn't a preference, it's decided by how much bone you have and where the gaps sit. Two people missing the same number of teeth can need very different treatment — which is why quotes vary so wildly before anyone has looked at a scan.

How many teeth are you missing or need replacing?

The three questions worth asking before you book

Which implant brand, by name? Osstem, MIS, Straumann and Nobel Biocare are all legitimate and all priced differently, and "premium titanium" is not a brand.

Is the abutment included, and is the crown included? These are separate questions and the answer to one does not imply the other.

What happens if the CT scan shows I need a graft or a sinus lift — what does that add, and when would I find out? A clinic that has thought about your case will answer with a number and a stage, not a reassurance.
