By Adam Smith, Head of Patient Research at MyDentalFly. Updated June 2026.

All-on-4 is the treatment most UK patients ask us about. A full arch of fixed teeth on just four implants — replacing dentures or failing teeth with something permanent. The concept is brilliant. The UK cost is not.

All-on-4 Prices Across the UK (2026)

Provider TypePer ArchBoth ArchesWaiting Time
London specialist clinic£12,000–£18,000£22,000–£35,0002–4 months
Private dental hospital£10,000–£15,000£18,000–£28,0002–6 months
Regional private clinic£8,000–£12,000£15,000–£22,0001–3 months
NHSNot routinely availableN/AN/A

These prices typically include: 4 implants, temporary bridge (same-day teeth), final zirconia bridge (fitted 3–6 months later), CBCT scan, and follow-up. Some clinics charge the temporary and final bridge as separate phases.

All-on-4 Prices Abroad (From Vetted Clinics)

CountryPer ArchBoth ArchesIncludes
Turkey£3,500–£5,500£7,000–£11,000CBCT, surgery, temporary teeth, final zirconia bridge, transfers
Hungary£4,500–£6,500£9,000–£13,000CBCT, surgery, temporary teeth, final bridge
Poland£4,000–£6,000£8,000–£12,000CBCT, surgery, temporary teeth, final bridge

Saving for a UK patient getting both arches: £8,000–£24,000 depending on UK quote and destination chosen.

All-on-4 vs All-on-6: Which Is Better?

This is one of the most searched questions from UK patients. Here is the honest answer:

FactorAll-on-4All-on-6
Number of implants4 per arch6 per arch
Bone requirementWorks with moderate bone loss (angled posterior implants)Requires more bone, may need grafting
StabilityExcellent for most patientsMarginally more stable, better load distribution
Cost15–20% less than All-on-6Higher due to extra implants and surgery time
Best forMost patients, especially those with bone lossPatients with good bone volume, bruxism, or very long spans
Success rate95–98% at 10 years96–99% at 10 years

Our finding from reviewing cases: All-on-4 is sufficient for 80% of patients. All-on-6 is better if you grind your teeth heavily, have a very wide arch, or have good bone stock and want maximum long-term security. A good dentist will recommend based on your CBCT scan, not upsell you to 6 implants when 4 will do.

The All-on-4 Process: What UK Patients Should Expect

Before You Travel

  1. CBCT scan (some clinics accept scans from UK providers — ask)
  2. Video consultation with the implantologist
  3. Treatment plan with itemised costs
  4. Deposit paid (typically 20–30%)

Trip 1: Surgery + Temporary Teeth (5–7 days)

  • Day 1: In-person consultation, final CBCT, treatment plan confirmation
  • Day 2: Surgery — implants placed, immediate temporary bridge fitted (you leave with teeth)
  • Day 3–5: Recovery, soft food, follow-up check
  • Day 6–7: Final check before flying home

Healing Period (3–6 months at home)

  • Temporary bridge in place — you can eat, talk, and smile normally
  • Soft food for first 2 weeks, then gradual return to normal diet
  • Follow-up photos via WhatsApp every 4 weeks
  • See a UK dentist or hygienist at 6 weeks and 3 months

Trip 2: Final Bridge (3–5 days)

  • Day 1: Impressions for final zirconia bridge
  • Day 2–3: Lab work
  • Day 3–5: Final bridge fitted, occlusion adjusted, night-guard made

Red Flags for All-on-4 Abroad

All-on-4 is a complex surgical procedure. These are non-negotiable requirements:

  1. CBCT scan mandatory — no clinic should place implants from a panoramic X-ray alone
  2. Named implantologist — who is doing the surgery? What is their experience with full-arch cases?
  3. Implant brand must be named — Straumann, Nobel Biocare, MIS, MegaGen, Neodent are the main systems. "We use premium implants" is not an answer.
  4. Temporary and final bridge included in quote — some clinics quote for surgery only, then charge separately for the prosthetic
  5. Night-guard included — bruxism is the #1 cause of implant failure in full-arch cases

UK Patient Stories: All-on-4 Abroad

Michael, 58, Leeds — upper All-on-4 in Istanbul

"I was quoted £14,000 for one arch in Leeds. I paid £4,800 total including flights and hotel in Istanbul. Same implant brand — Straumann. The clinic did a full CBCT, video-called me twice before I flew out, and the temporary teeth were fitted on the same day as surgery. Six months later I went back for the final bridge. Total saving: about £8,000."

Janet, 63, Glasgow — both arches in Budapest

"I had been wearing dentures for 12 years. My Glasgow dentist quoted £24,000 for both arches. In Budapest, I paid £11,500 for both — Nobel Biocare implants, zirconia bridges, everything included. I combined both trips with my daughter visiting Budapest for the first time."
