Both replace missing teeth, but work very differently
Best for: Single missing tooth with healthy adjacent teeth
Best for: Missing tooth when adjacent teeth need crowns anyway
Choose implant if adjacent teeth are healthy. Choose bridge if those teeth already need crowns or you want to avoid surgery.
Honest criteria to help you understand if a treatment is right for you.
Most "not ideal" factors can be addressed. A consultation will determine your specific situation.
Not all implants and crowns are equal. Here's what to look for.
Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Zimmer Biomet
Swiss/Swedish engineering, 30+ years research, highest success rates (98%+). Used in complex cases.
MIS, Osstem, Dentium, Megagen
Excellent quality, widely used globally, strong research backing, great value. 95-97% success rates.
Generic/Unbranded, Lesser-known Chinese brands
Lower cost but less research, lower success rates, harder to source replacement parts.
Our recommendation: We recommend MIS, Osstem, or premium brands. Avoid unbranded implants - the savings aren't worth the risk.
E.max (Lithium Disilicate), Feldspathic Porcelain
Most natural appearance, excellent translucency, ideal for front teeth. Handcrafted by master technicians.
Zirconia, Layered Zirconia
Extremely strong, great for back teeth or grinders. Modern zirconia can look very natural too.
PFM (Porcelain-Fused-Metal), Basic Zirconia
Older technology, metal line can show at gum, less natural. Still functional but less aesthetic.
Our recommendation: For visible front teeth, E.max or layered zirconia. For back teeth or grinding, monolithic zirconia is ideal.
