What proper clinic vetting looks like — 8 checks we run before listing any Turkish dental clinic.

What proper clinic vetting looks like — 8 checks we run before listing any Turkish dental clinic.

There are over 400 dental clinics in Turkey targeting foreign patients. How do you find the ones that are actually good? Not from Google reviews — those are easily gamed. Here's what to look for instead.

The 11 Things We Check Before Listing a Clinic

Not every Turkish dental clinic makes it onto our platform. Here's the actual vetting checklist we use.

1. Dentist experience and tenure. How long have the lead dentists been practising? What's their specialisation? A clinic is only as good as the hands doing the work.

2. How long the clinic has been established. New clinics aren't automatically bad, but a track record matters. We want to see years of consistent results, not a flashy website launched six months ago.

3. Reputation — both online and offline. Online reviews tell part of the story. But we also speak with industry insiders who know the Turkish dental scene intimately. People who've visited these clinics, worked alongside these dentists, and know which names come up for the right reasons.

4. Multi-platform review monitoring. We track reviews across Google, Trustpilot, and other platforms. A clinic with 500 five-star reviews on one platform and silence everywhere else raises questions.

5. Before-and-after portfolios. We examine their actual clinical work. Veneers that look like veneers are a red flag. Good cosmetic dentistry should look like natural teeth.

6. English-speaking coordinators. Miscommunication during dental treatment isn't just frustrating — it's dangerous. We verify that clinics have proper language support, not just someone who "speaks a little English."

7. Location and accessibility. Is the clinic easy to reach from the airport? Is it in a safe, well-connected area? These details matter when you're recovering from a procedure in a foreign city.

8. Digital presence and professionalism. A legitimate clinic invests in how they present themselves. This isn't about having the fanciest website — it's about transparency, clear information, and professionalism.

9. Direct communication. We contact every clinic directly. How they deal with us — friendly, polite, respectful, responsive — tells us exactly how they'll deal with you. Clinics that are dismissive or aggressive with a platform partner won't suddenly become charming with patients.

10. Aftercare policy. What happens if something goes wrong three months later? We evaluate every clinic's aftercare and warranty commitments before they ever see a patient profile.

11. We call every single patient personally. This isn't a vetting step for clinics — it's a vetting step for the entire process. More on this below.

What We Deliberately Ignore

Price is not a qualification factor. We do not rank, filter, or favour clinics based on how cheap they are. A clinic charging £500 per implant gets the same scrutiny as one charging £350.

Why? Because the cheapest option and the best option are rarely the same thing. Clinics that compete purely on price tend to cut corners on materials, rush procedures, or overbook their schedule.

"Don't just go for the cheapest quote — you get what you pay for."

City Breakdown: Istanbul vs Antalya vs Izmir

Turkey isn't one destination. It's several, and each city offers a different experience.

Istanbul — The Biggest Selection

Istanbul has the highest concentration of dental clinics in Turkey. More competition means more choice, but it also means more clinics you need to filter through. The best clinics here tend to be in the Sisli, Atasehir, and Kadikoy districts.

Istanbul works well for patients who want to combine treatment with city culture — the Grand Bazaar, Bosphorus cruises, historical sites. It's also the easiest city to reach with direct flights from almost everywhere.

Antalya — Beach Recovery

Antalya is Turkey's Mediterranean coast. Patients who choose Antalya often want the "recovery holiday" experience — beach, sunshine, and a more relaxed pace. The dental cluster here is smaller than Istanbul but growing fast.

Clinic quality in Antalya is strong, though you'll find fewer ultra-specialist options (like complex full-mouth rehabilitation) compared to Istanbul.

Izmir — The Emerging Option

Izmir is Turkey's third-largest city and the least touristy dental destination. That's actually a selling point for some patients — fewer tourists means clinics aren't running a volume-based conveyor belt. You'll find a more personal experience here, often at slightly lower prices than Istanbul.

The trade-off: fewer clinics to choose from, and fewer direct international flights.

Not sure which city suits you? Start your free assessment and we'll match you with vetted clinics across all three cities based on your treatment needs.

What Happens After You're Matched

This is where MyDentalFly is fundamentally different from directories and listing sites. We don't just point you at a clinic and wish you luck.

We call every patient personally. After you complete your dental assessment, you receive an Intelligent Treatment Plan — your dental package. Then we ring you. An actual person, on the phone, walking you through what your report means and what to expect.

When matched clinics send their treatment plans, we review them. We make sure the proposed treatments align with your assessment, that pricing is transparent, and that nothing looks off. If a clinic suggests something unexpected, we ask them why.

Before your treatment date, we speak with the clinic directly. Everyone — you, us, the clinic — is on the same page about what's happening, when, and how much it costs. No surprises at the chair.

On consultation day, we're available. If you need us to speak with the clinic on your behalf, we do. If something doesn't feel right, you have someone in your corner.

We evaluate aftercare commitments. Get everything in writing — and we help make sure you do.

What Does Dental Treatment in Turkey Actually Cost?

Here's what you can realistically expect to pay. These are ranges across vetted clinics — not cherry-picked low prices.

TreatmentTurkeyUKUSAEurope
Dental Implant (Standard)£350–550£2,500$3,400€2,000
Dental Implant (Premium)£450–800£3,500$5,500€3,200
E-max Veneer (per tooth)£180–350£800$1,500€900
Zirconia Crown£120–220£800$1,500€850
All-on-4 (Full Arch)£3,800–7,000£12,000$25,000€10,000
Hollywood Smile (8–10 veneers)£1,600–3,200£8,000$15,000€7,500

Important caveat: these are starting ranges. Your actual price depends on your specific dental situation — bone density for implants, how many teeth need work, material choices. That's exactly why we offer a Treatment Estimator and a detailed implant brand comparison tool so you can understand what drives the cost.

Is it safe to get dental work done in Turkey?

Yes — with the right clinic. Turkey's top dental clinics use the same materials and brands (Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Ivoclar) as clinics in London or New York. The risk isn't Turkey as a country; it's choosing the wrong clinic. That's the entire reason our vetting process exists.

How do I know if a Turkish dental clinic is legitimate?

Check for established history, consistent reviews across multiple platforms, named dentists with verifiable credentials, and clear before-and-after portfolios. Or skip the research and start an assessment with us — we've already done it.

Why are dental prices so much lower in Turkey?

Lower operating costs (rent, salaries, lab fees), favourable exchange rates, and high competition. Turkish clinics aren't using cheaper materials — they're running the same procedures at lower overhead. A Straumann implant is a Straumann implant whether it's placed in Istanbul or Harley Street.

Can I get a free consultation before committing?

Absolutely. We call every patient who completes an assessment. No charge, no obligation. We walk you through your dental package, explain your options, and answer every question before you make any decisions. Get started here.

What if something goes wrong after I return home?

This is the most important question to ask any clinic. All clinics on our platform have documented aftercare and warranty policies. We verify these before listing them. Most offer free corrective treatment within a warranty period, and many have partnerships with local dentists in your home country for follow-up checks.
