Which Dental Clinic Is Right for Your Case? A Case-by-Case Guide

Not every clinic suits every dental case. We explain which clinics we recommend based on your treatment needs, where you live, and what matters most to you.
Every dental case is different. A 35-year-old who needs 4 implants and a sinus lift is not the same as someone who wants 20 veneers for a smile makeover. The clinic that is perfect for one might be completely wrong for the other.
Here is how we match patients to clinics — and why the right match matters more than the lowest price.
Why does the clinic matter more than the country?
People fixate on Turkey vs Hungary vs Poland. But the real question is which clinic has the right expertise for your specific case.
A clinic that does 1,000 veneers a year might not be the best choice for complex surgical implant work that requires bone grafting and sinus lifts. And a specialist implant centre may not have the cosmetic eye or lab quality needed for a perfect Hollywood Smile.
The country determines your flight time and general price range. The clinic determines your outcome.
What should you look at when choosing a clinic?
1. Surgical expertise For implants, bone grafts, sinus lifts, and zygomatic implants, you need a clinic with dedicated oral surgeons — not just general dentists. Ask how many implant cases they handle per year and what their most complex case looks like.
2. Cosmetic expertise For veneers, Hollywood Smiles, and smile makeovers, lab quality is everything. The dentist prepares the teeth, but the lab creates the final result. Ask whether the clinic has an in-house lab and how they handle shade matching.
3. Implant brands available Straumann and Nobel Biocare are the globally recognised premium brands — your UK or US dentist can maintain them if you ever need follow-up work at home. Budget brands like Osstem or MIS are clinically proven but less widely stocked outside Turkey.
4. Case volume A clinic that places 300-1,000 implants per year has seen every complication and knows how to handle it. A clinic doing 50 per year simply has less experience.
5. Accreditations JCI (Joint Commission International) and ISO 9001 are the gold standards. They indicate independently audited quality systems, not just a nice website.
6. All-inclusive services Transfers, accommodation, interpreter — these sound like extras but they make a significant difference when you are recovering from surgery in a foreign country.
How would we match real patients to clinics?
Here are four real-world scenarios showing how the same platform recommends completely different clinics depending on the case.
Case 1: Sarah from London — 6 implants with bone grafting
The situation: Sarah is 52, has been putting off dental work for years, and now needs 6 implants across her upper and lower jaw. Her X-ray shows significant bone loss in two areas, meaning she will need bone grafting before the implants can be placed. This is a complex surgical case.
What matters most: Surgical expertise, experience with bone grafting, premium implant brands for UK aftercare compatibility.
Our recommendation:
Tower Dental Clinic, Istanbul — This is one of the clinics we would match Sarah with. Tower has a team of 6 dentists and 2 dedicated oral surgeons, 24 years of experience, and handles around 300 implant cases per year. They stock 10 implant brands including Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Megagen, and BioHorizons — meaning Sarah's UK dentist can maintain the work long-term. Dr. Ertan Etemoglu leads the complex surgical cases.
Also consider: Suave Clinic, Istanbul — JCI and ISO 9001 certified, which is rare for Turkish clinics. Dr. Imad Alboshe specialises in oral surgery and implantology, and the clinic places around 400 implants per year. They stock Straumann, which is widely recognised in the UK.
Why not a cosmetic-focused clinic? Bone grafting requires specific surgical training, CBCT scanning, and sometimes guided surgery techniques. A clinic that specialises in veneers may not have the surgical infrastructure Sarah needs.
Logistics: London to Istanbul is a 4-hour flight, typically £100-200 return. Sarah would need two trips — one for grafting and implant placement, and a return visit 4-6 months later for the permanent crowns.
Case 2: Thomas from Berlin — 20 veneers for a Hollywood Smile
The situation: Thomas is 38 and wants a complete smile transformation. His teeth are healthy but discoloured and slightly misaligned. He wants 20 E-Max veneers — 10 upper, 10 lower. This is a cosmetic case where the final aesthetic result is everything.
What matters most: Lab quality, shade matching expertise, experience with high-volume cosmetic cases, E-Max material quality.
Our recommendation:
Maltepe Dental Clinic, Istanbul — Specialises in cosmetic dentistry, Hollywood Smile, and smile design. Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ilhan with 22 years of experience. ISO 9001 certified. Their specialisation list reads like a cosmetic dentistry textbook: smile design, E-Max veneers, zirconium crowns. This is what they do all day.
Also consider: Dentakay, Istanbul — Handles 1,000 implant cases per year but also has a strong cosmetic department. ISO certified, stocks E-Max and Straumann. Dr. Gülay Akay has 16 years of experience. The high volume means their lab processes are well-refined.
Why cosmetic expertise matters here: With veneers, the difference between good and great is in the details — how the lab layers the porcelain, how the shade transitions at the gum line, how the shape matches the patient's face. A surgical implant clinic may place implants perfectly but not have the cosmetic finesse Thomas needs.
Logistics: Berlin to Istanbul is a 3-hour flight. Thomas would need 7-10 days for the full process: consultation and preparation on days 1-2, temporary veneers, then permanent fitting on days 5-7.
Case 3: Mike from Houston — All-on-4 both arches, budget-conscious
The situation: Mike is 61 and needs full arch rehabilitation — both upper and lower. His remaining teeth are failing and he is looking at All-on-4 implants for both arches. In the US, this would cost $30,000-50,000. He needs a clinic that specialises specifically in All-on-4.
What matters most: All-on-4 specialist experience, premium implant brands, cost savings, structured aftercare.
Our recommendation:
Haldent Dental Clinic, Krakow — This is a specialist implantology centre led by Poland's only certified Nobel Biocare All-on-4 trainer. They have an in-house lab, see 1,500 patients per year, and run a training academy for dentists across Europe. When a clinic trains other dentists in the procedure, that tells you something about their expertise. They stock Nobel Biocare, Straumann, and MIS. Poland also operates under EU regulation.
Also consider: Tower Dental Clinic, Istanbul — Lower prices than Poland (typically $5,000-7,000 per arch vs $7,000-10,000), 2 dedicated oral surgeons, and stocks Nobel Biocare and BioHorizons. For Mike, Turkey offers the biggest savings.
The trade-off: Poland costs more but offers EU consumer protection and a shorter regulatory distance if anything goes wrong. Turkey costs less but is outside the EU. Both deliver excellent clinical outcomes — it comes down to Mike's comfort level and budget.
Logistics: Houston to Istanbul is 12 hours. Houston to Krakow is 11 hours (with one connection). Mike would need 5-7 days for the initial surgery and temporary bridge, then a return visit 4-6 months later for the permanent prosthetics.
Case 4: Emma from Dubai — crowns, a few implants, and a premium experience
The situation: Emma is 45 and needs a mix of work: 3 implants, 5 zirconia crowns, and possibly a sinus lift. She is not only looking for clinical quality but a premium, well-coordinated experience. She has the budget for Straumann or Nobel Biocare and wants a clinic with advanced diagnostic technology.
What matters most: Multi-discipline expertise (both surgical and restorative), premium brands, advanced technology (CBCT, guided surgery), patient coordination.
Our recommendation:
MDental Clinic, Budapest — Located at Eiffel Square in Budapest, MDental has 3D imaging and computer-guided surgery, a team of 7 dentists, and stocks Straumann, Nobel Biocare, and NeoDent. They offer complete treatment and accommodation packages and are set up specifically for international patients. Budapest is a beautiful city for a recovery trip.
Also consider: Qualident, Istanbul — Founded by Prof. Dr. Ghazwan Ghazi, who is Harvard-trained and specialises in implantology and periodontology. The clinic handles 1,000 implant cases per year and uses CBCT imaging and intraoral scanning for precision planning. This is a clinician-led practice, not a marketing-led one.
Also consider: Dentaglobal, Izmir — A multi-specialty clinic with modern technology including guided digital surgery, dental lasers, and digital anaesthesia. Dr. Sukru Mert Yuce specialises in prosthodontics. Izmir is quieter and more affordable than Istanbul, which appeals to patients who want a calmer recovery environment. They stock Straumann, Nobel Biocare, MIS, and Alpha Bio.
Logistics: Dubai to Istanbul is 4.5 hours. Dubai to Budapest is 5 hours. Both are easy connections from the UAE.

What if you are not sure what treatment you need?
Most people searching for clinics do not actually know what they need yet. They might think they need veneers but actually need crowns. They might not realise bone grafting is required before implants can be placed. They might be comparing prices for the wrong treatment entirely.
This is exactly what our dental health check is for:
- Take the dental health check — mark your teeth on an interactive dental chart and answer a few health questions
- Get your Dental Health Report — a breakdown of what treatment you may need, with estimated costs in your currency
- Select up to 3 clinics from our platform that match your case
- Each clinic receives your full patient file and prepares a clinically reviewed treatment plan — including any extras like bone grafts, flights, cost estimates, and accommodation
- Compare the plans side by side — everything you need to make a decision is in one document from each clinic
- Choose one and pay a £200 refundable deposit — refundable up to two weeks before you fly
You end up with a detailed document from each clinic covering exactly what they will do, what it will cost, and what is included. All you need to do is choose.
Take the dental health check — it is free, takes a few minutes, and gives you a clear starting point.
How do you compare treatment plans once you have them?
When you receive treatment plans from your selected clinics, here is what to compare:
- Same implant brand across quotes — if one clinic quotes Straumann and another quotes an unnamed brand, you are not comparing like-for-like
- Are bone grafts and sinus lifts included or listed as extras? This is the most common source of surprise costs
- What accommodation is offered? Some clinics include hotel stays, others do not
- What is the total cost including travel? Factor in flights, hotel, time off work, and return trips
- What is the aftercare guarantee? How long, what does it cover, and what happens if you need follow-up work?
The bottom line
The right clinic for your case is not necessarily the cheapest one or the one with the best website. It is the one that has the right expertise, the right technology, and enough experience with cases like yours to handle whatever they find when they start working.
Getting an independent assessment before choosing a clinic means you arrive knowing what you need. No clinic can add extras you did not agree to. No surprises in the chair.
