Three countries, 29+ verified clinics, real prices. Which destination is right for your dental implants?
A single dental implant costs £2,950 in the UK. In Turkey it is £500-£800. In Hungary, £700-£1,000. In Poland, £600-£900. All three use the same implant brands — Straumann, Nobel Biocare, MIS — and all three have clinics that meet the standards you would expect at home. The question is not whether to go abroad. It is where.
I am Adam Smith, Head of Patient Research at MyDentalFly. I have personally reviewed clinics in all three countries. Here is what actually matters when choosing.

Turkey: Best for Cosmetic and Full-Arch Work
Cities: Istanbul, Antalya Flight time from London: 4 hours Our clinic partner: Tower Dental Clinic, Istanbul — led by Dr. Ertan Etemoglu (26 years in practice, 8,000+ patients per year, Turkish and American Dental Association member)
Strengths:
- Lowest prices for cosmetic work (veneers, crowns, Hollywood Smiles)
- Massive dental tourism infrastructure — clinics are set up for international patients
- Modern facilities with in-house labs and CAD/CAM
- Short turnaround times for prosthetic work
Weaknesses:
- The "Turkey teeth" budget segment gives the whole country a bad reputation
- Not in the EU — no EU consumer protection
- Longer flight than Hungary or Poland
- Currency fluctuation can affect prices (but most quote in GBP or EUR)
Best for: Full smile makeovers (20 crowns, veneers), All-on-4/6, anyone who wants the biggest saving on cosmetic work.
"I got quotes ranging from £3,500 to £9,000 for the same work — the cheapest wasn't always the worst." — patient from our community
Hungary: Best for Complex Implant Cases
City: Budapest Flight time from London: 2.5 hours Our clinic partner: MDental Clinic Budapest — led by Dr. Ádám Bodnár (Lead Implant Surgeon, 1,200+ implants per year, Straumann and Nobel Biocare certified, ISO 9001:2015)
Strengths:
- EU member state — EU consumer protection laws apply
- 30+ years of dental tourism history ("dental capital of Europe")
- Closest flight from the UK of the three
- Strong implantology tradition — many clinics specialise in complex cases
- In-house labs common in larger clinics
Weaknesses:
- Prices are higher than Turkey (20-30% more on average)
- Smaller pool of dental tourism clinics than Turkey
- Budapest hotel costs are rising
- Some clinics have long waiting lists (4-8 weeks)
Best for: Complex implant cases, patients who want EU legal protection, nervous patients who prefer a shorter flight, bone grafting and sinus lift cases.

Poland: Best for UK Patients Who Want Proximity
City: Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk Flight time from London: 2.5 hours Our clinic partner: Haldent Dental Clinic, Krakow — led by Dr. Hubert Trzepatowski (the only certified Nobel Biocare All-on-4 trainer in Poland, 1,500+ patients per year)
Strengths:
- EU member state — full EU consumer protection
- Cheapest flights from the UK (often £40-£80 return)
- Fastest growing dental tourism destination (+34% year on year)
- Nobel Biocare and Straumann standard in quality clinics
- Krakow is a beautiful city — easy to combine treatment with a short break
Weaknesses:
- Smaller dental tourism infrastructure than Turkey or Hungary
- Fewer clinics to compare (but quality is high at the top end)
- Prices are similar to Hungary — not as cheap as Turkey
- Less experience with high-volume cosmetic cases

How to Decide
Choose Turkey if: You need 8+ crowns, veneers, or full-arch work and want maximum savings. You are comfortable doing thorough research to avoid the budget segment.
Choose Hungary if: You need complex implant work, want EU legal protection, or prefer the shortest possible flight. You have a moderate budget and value established reputation.
Choose Poland if: You want EU protection with the lowest travel costs, need implant work (especially All-on-4 with Nobel Biocare), or live in Scotland/Northern Ireland where Krakow is closer than Istanbul.
Not sure? The 2-minute dental health check gives you a personalised treatment recommendation. Pearl AI below can then help you compare clinics across all three countries based on what you actually need.
Do all three countries use the same implant brands?
Yes. Straumann, Nobel Biocare, MIS, MegaGen, and Neodent are available in quality clinics across all three countries. The implants are manufactured in the same factories — a Nobel Biocare implant placed in Istanbul is identical to one placed in Budapest or London. What differs is the surgeon placing it, which is why we vet clinics individually.
Is it safe to get dental implants in Turkey after the "Turkey teeth" scandals?
The scandals involve a specific budget sub-market, not the country. Turkey has 35,000 licensed dentists and some of the best dental schools in Europe. The clinics on our platform charge £180-280 per crown — the ethical range — and we have removed 8 clinics that did not meet our standards.
Can I split treatment between two countries?
Technically yes, but we do not recommend it. Different clinics use different implant systems, and components are not always cross-compatible. Pick one clinic, one country, and stick with them for the full treatment.
Which country has the best aftercare for UK patients?
All three can coordinate with UK dentists for follow-up. Hungary and Poland have the advantage of shorter flights for any return visits. Turkey compensates with lower prices — the saving often covers an extra return trip if needed. Our platform arranges follow-up protocols with every clinic.
